Backlit media and marketing director, Jennifer Hackett, will be running an 8 week WordPress Website Workshop. There are 10 places, and is a first come first serve basis.
Are you an artist/maker/photographer looking for a professional website you can use to showcase your work? Manage and update yourself? Then this course will teach you the skills to build and maintain your own website.
It will run every Tuesday evening, 8pm – 9pm, at Backlit. The first session will be June the 5th. and the last session will be July the 24th
The wordpress training course will show you how to get your site up and running.This includes;
- Buying a domain name
- Setting up a hosting account
- Installing wordpress
- WordPress Dashboard
- Downloading plugins
- How to choose a theme
- Permalinks
- SEO
- Tags and Categories
- WordPress Widgets
- Uploading videos and images
- Protecting your site from Spam
- Set up posts and pages
- Managing categories,tags,images and uploading videos
- Social Media /Skype buttons
- Internet marketing tips
You do not need any webdesign experience, but basic computing skills are required . This wordpress training course is ideal for beginners. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of wordpress which is one of the most powerful platform on the internet. All you need to bring along to the wordpress training course is a laptop.
The full cost of the workshop is £80.
NB. This does not include the purchase of your domain name or hosting of your website. (but support will be offered in gaining these)
