BACKrits are critical feedback sessions that are now an established part of our programming. They help develop and support the gallery’s important network of students, local and International artists. They also add to Backlit’s repertoire of engaged critical events enhancing Backlit’s reputation as a leading arts practice venue in the region.
During November and December, 2010, Backlit offered critical feedback sessions led by artists involved in the British Art Show 2010. These sessions, BACKrits, offered a critique of artworks by Nottingham Trent university Fine Art students, local practitioners and Backlit studio members.
The Live Lecture series at Nottingham Trent University ran by Rob Flint involved a number of the artists exhibiting in the British art show and involved in the BACKrits.
Due to the success of the ‘BACKrits’ they are now an integral part of our programming.
Take a look at the programme page for further details or join the mailing list to keep up to date with Backlit events.
Selection process? Students are invited to participate by their University departments. Local practitioners can email with a request for participation. They are a first come first come basis.
