Statement
My work explores the physicality of the human body, its relationship to environment and the tension of the dynamic between the two. I attempt to make art that offers a heightened sensory experience using this as a strategy for drawing the viewer in to engage with the ideas behind the work.
Recently I have been experimenting with layering felt around the body, using it like an outer skin, an exoskeleton which we can reconfigure as we respond to exterior or interior elements. By placing these garment structures in different contexts I can explore bodily connections.
