Renting a space
The spaces are between £60-£150 per month, all inclusive. By becoming a member of Backlit Studio, you are entitled to solo exhibitions and group shows as part of the regular Backlit Gallery programme and we are currently arranging a regular programme of group crit sessions with other local practitioner and students . You will also have a space on the Backlit website. The studio has wireless broadband, a mac computer, toilets and a kitchen. There is no minimum period, we just ask for a £5 key deposit and 2 months notice if you decide to leave.

Once you have filled in the application form please return either via post or email along with a maximum of 10 images of your work. Backlit Studio, Alfred House, Ashley Street, Sneinton, NG3 1JG
Once we have viewed your application we will invite you to attend an informal interview at the studios so that we can become better acquainted. (Enclose an SAE if you would like your visual material returned)
Becoming a member
This entitles you to all the benefits of being a studio member but without actually renting a space. This includes being kept informed of opportunities and events through our members mailing list, crit sessions and regular meetings and social events. Backlit Gallery is currently looking for a new team of passionate volunteers looking to gain experience in a dynamic Art Gallery delivering an exciting programme of exhibitions and events.

Essential Requirements
- Evident knowledge of the arts.
- An interest in exhibition management and gallery work.
- Determination, perseverance, passion for the arts, and enthusiasm.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Some knowledge of D.I.Y would be preferred, but not essential.
If you are interested in joining our volunteering team then please email us your C.V with a covering letter to volunteer@backlit.org.uk. You will be contacted to say that we have received your email. You will then be invited to an interview to hear more about the Gallery and to assess whether volunteering is suitable for you.
