As a graphic artist, my work is mischievous and playful. Largely inspired by the latter half of the 20th century, I use nostalgic themes to create an immediate sense of familiar connection and emotional response. I love mixing bold shapes and colour with naive undertones to create vibrant, imaginative illustrations with character and personality. My practice is a mixture of digital illustration and manipulation, collage and print. Research and experimentation often help to inspire and formulate my initial ideas, which I may then digitally enhance before going back to analogue, mixing paints and inks by hand to add depth, texture and a resonance of variation and imperfection otherwise unobtainable.

Commercially, I am a freelance graphic designer, under the guise of ‘Gifted Scribble’, using the self taught skills of research, experimentation and digital development to craft brand identities, thoughtfully accessible and meaningful logos and ongoing promotional materials for businesses, charities and community projects large and small.
