The Morley Gallery, London presented House Of The Flying Wheel (15th Jan – 4th Feb 2015) was a touring group exhibition that brought together new commissions and existing work that explores industrial heritage and social activism through contemporary art, celebrating the life of the 19th century philanthropic merchant, Samuel Morley and the 125th Anniversary of the Morley College.

For this part of the tour Darren Banks re-envisioned his piece The Morley Engine, the sculpture utilised the vernacular architecture of the space using original Morley Gallery tables and made new clay work in the ceramic studios of Morley College, placing himself as a beneficiary of Morley’s philanthropy.
