BACKLIT Studio and Associate Artists

We have 45 studio artists and 20 associate artists who form part of the Backlit community, with diverse practices including fine artists, contemporary crafts and innovative creative commercial businesses.

Studio Membership:

 

  • 24 hour access
  • Internet, heating and electricity (unless excessive usage)
  • Profile on the website
  • Access to any member only opportunities including exhibitions and events
  • Priority over non-members to workshops, talks and other critical sessions
  • Being part of a diverse and exciting studio community
  • Opportunities to apply to Backlit artist events including projects, annual group show and participation programmes
  • Access to regular development opportunities
  • Access to regular workshops
  • Access to one-to-ones with relevant members of staff in person or via Skype

Associate Membership:

 

  • Opportunities to apply to Backlit artist events including annual group show
  • Priority access to events and previews
  • Name on the website with hyperlink to your own site
  • Opportunity to rent studio or project space on short-term let
  • Access to regular development opportunities
  • Access to regular workshops
  • Access to one-to-ones with relevant members of staff in person or via Skype
  • Invitation to quarterly studio meetings

 

To apply for associate membership, send an email to info@backlit.org.uk with ‘Associate Membership Application’ in the subject line and include an artists statement, CV and up to three images of recent work to as an attachment.

Associate membership applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. The next closing date for applications is June 1, 2017. Successful associates will be notified at this time.
