Fiona Carruthers
FIONA CARRUTHERS works across sculpture, performance and photography to investigate themes of sustainability, resilience in a changing world, and the deep connections between nature and human survival. Her practice is shaped by the ever-present effects of climate change and the palpable uncertainty of vulnerable wetland environments. Physical disability and post-traumatic growth, outcomes of surviving local flooding, further inform her understanding of adaptation as a shared condition across human and nonhuman life.
Fiona Carruthers exhibits nationally and internationally, holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, and has received awards from Arts Council England, the University of the Arts London and Central Saint Martins. Her works are held in private collections.
