Klara Szafrańska (b. 1997, Warsaw) is a Polish artist living in the UK.

Szafrańska works with sculpture, video and performance. Her practice looks at relationships to the ‘supernatural’ (otherwise understood by the artist as ‘para-scientific’ or ‘non-scientific’) and natural, and their taxonomies in the context of the Capitalocene. Her work is invested in recomposing rigid structures of classification in order to question what they try to naturalise. Taking inspiration from museum surveillance systems and preservation methods, anecdotes telling the ways in which nature bypasses conservation zones, natural history dioramas, wildlife cams and clay she creates spaces beyond laws, that try to naturalise phenomena like binaries, oppositional critical examination methods rooted in Western philosophy, or private property, all inherent in the Capitalocene systems.
