Don’t Lick The Walls
‘Don’t Lick The Walls’ represents Nottingham Trent University's Photography Undergraduate end of year show. The artworks consider a range of qualities and explores photographic approaches that includes digital, analogue and artificial intelligence. There is a considered focus on the tactile attributes of the materials employed, in which images are printed onto fabrics, ceramics, and natural materials.
Embedded within each work is a narrative deeply rooted in personal experiences. Themes explored encompass a wide spectrum from mental health and female empowerment to sustainability, illusion, faith and the rich tapestry of diverse subcultures such as fashion, music and car racing. The photographic examination extends to the complex layers of intersectionality, where students confront emotional hurdles, individually and collectively, through critical lenses applied to their photographic practices.
