BACKLIT is looking for new Studio Members. As the biggest studio provider in the Midlands, we provide professional, safe and creative working space for Nottingham based artists, creatives, arts organisers, makers and designers. As a Member you will have access to development feedback sessions with the BACKLIT team, support with funding applications, an exclusive Members Portal, darkroom and screen-printing facilities, funded opportunities, feature on our website, Open Studios, discounted hire for our galleries and project spaces.

We are looking for applicants who work in the field of visual arts and wanting to become an active member of BACKLIT community and Nottingham art scene. We are especially interested in supporting artists whose practices involve one or many of BACKLIT 4 focus pillars: digital, environmental, mental health and EDI (equality, diversity, inclusion).

We are actively seeking a broad range of people to reflect diverse experiences and backgrounds. We especially encourage applications from candidates who have Black, Asian, Mixed or Global Majority heritage and/or are from working-class/lower socioeconomic backgrounds, identify as LGBTQ+, Female, and people with disability.
