Storytelling and drop-in art session for families
Join BACKLIT artist Katie Sandoval Meade and BACKLIT’s Learning and Community Coordinator Panya Banjoko for an afternoon of interactive storytelling and arts. This family session is inspired by BACKLIT’s Joy of Destruction exhibition and explores the question “how do you want to live?”
This session will include 30-minute storytelling for families and a 90-minute drop-in art activity for children aged 5-11 years.

Katie Sandoval Meade is an artist based at BACKLIT Studios. She loves inspiring people to explore their creativity through making art. She designs exciting and imaginative art workshops based on elements of our environment inspired by nature, urban living and world cultures. Her practice explores the landscapes and details found in the natural world via painting, photography and print-making.
Panya Banjoko is a storyteller and poet and is the Learning and Community Coordinator at BACKLIT studios. Panya likes to tell traditional African stories which allows adults and children to think about who they are and the things they would like to be and do in the world.
